Visiting Injured Soldiers

Malki and I went this afternoon to Hadassah Hospital to visit some of the injured soldiers. We went with Meirav of One Family (who lost a brother in battle 7 years ago) and a soldier who was blown up in a tunnel 7 months ago and lost both of his eyes. My tears are flowing. But even more my feeling of Mi k’amcha yisrael (who is like the people of Israel). A soldier who lost his eyesight going to visit injured colleagues one by one. And he brought them pride. In fact, one wanted to take a picture with him. And he made their families so happy – if he could recover so can my child.

One Family is an amazing organization – making the injured and the families of those we lose in terror attacks or battle part of a giant family. We should all help them if we can.
