Nearly 45 teenagers from the National Council of Synagogue Youth’s (NCSY-OU) summer GIVE program visited the OneFamily’s Jerusalem center recently to partake in a unique fun-filled experience that put smiles on the faces of dozens of young children, who are victims of terrorism and war.
Girls Israel Volunteer Experience (GIVE) is for exceptional high school girls who want to experience Judaism firsthand through the art of giving back in Israel.
During the course of the afternoon, OneFamily’s youngsters engaged in a variety of activities with the high school girls from playing basketball to arts and crafts. As many of the girls spoke Hebrew, an instant connection and affection was created between the children and their visitors.
“OneFamily is a very special organization that gives as much as they can to these children. For me and the other NCSY girls, it was fun to be a part of this unique community and be able to make these kids, who are victims of war and terrorism happy for a few hours. We are all part of Am Yisroel (Jewish nation),” said Zisse Hanfling.
