OneFamily was honored to participate in the United Nations Holocaust Remembrance Day event last week.

The annual event was held four days after the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp. Israel’s ambassador to the UN Danny Danon as well as Christopher Heusgen, the ambassador from Germany, gave presentations marking the need to remember the magnitude of the tragedy.

“We are not here today just to remember the Holocaust. We are also here to remind ourselves of our collective failure to prevent it,”

General Assembly President Miroslav Lajčák said in his keynote address.

Eva Lavi, the youngest Holocaust survivor saved by Oskar Schindler, also addressed the general assembly. She spoke about how she was only 3 years old when she was dragged to the concentration camps, what she went through there, and how hard it is to live with the knowledge that so many of her loved ones were murdered.

OneFamily was honored to be chosen to participate. “The Holocaust was the ultimate act of hate and terrorism, a form of which continues to grow around the world,” he said.
