OneFamily stands in solidarity with the victims of terror in New York, New Jersey, and Minnesota, wishing them a speedy, complete recovery. No one understands the challenges faced by those affected by terror better than OneFamily, and the deep, personal connection between terror victims in the US and Israel demonstrates, once again, that we are truly members of one big family.
As the bomb exploded in Manhattan, wounding 29 people and a stabber wounded nine people in Minnesota over the weekend, terrorists in Israel opened a new wave of attacks on Israelis. Over four days, terrorists launched eight attacks and wounded seven Israelis, including a female border police officer who remains in critical condition with a stab wound to the neck.
The most serious attack in Israel since July took place Monday morning at the Herod’s Gate of Jerusalem’s Old City. A terrorist came up behind two border police officers, a woman, 38, and a man, 45, stabbing both repeatedly in the upper body.
The female officer, Tzipi bat Mazel, was rushed to Shaarei Tzedek Hospital with wounds to her back and neck. She was unconscious and required a respirator to breath. The man, Yaacov ben Puriel, was listed in moderate-to-serious condition. Security forces shot the terrorist on the scene, mortally wounding him.
Other terror victims from the past 96 hours of terror include:
- An IDF soldier stabbed in Efrat on Sunday. The soldier remains hospitalized.
- Two soldiers in Hebron stabbed on consecutive days – Friday and Saturday – in the same part of the city. One was slashed in the face by a terrorist.
- A bus driver driving on the road between Jerusalem and Ma’ale Adumim on Friday was wounded by terrorists throwing rocks and bottles filled with paint.
- A soldier was wounded in a stabbing attack at the Cave of the Patriarchs on Monday afternoon.
In addition, security forces thwarted more attacks:
- An attempted car ramming near Kiryat Arba
- An failed stabbing by a Jordanian national near the Damascus Gate
- A woman with a knife was arrested outside Itamar
The month before Rosh HaShana has often been a time of increased terror. The ongoing wave of stabbings, car rammings, and shootings began last Rosh HaShana.
While the government debates strategies for stopping the terrorists, Israel’s supporters can play a part in strengthening the resilience of Israeli citizens by helping OneFamily ensure that every victim receives the support he or she needs to recover and resume normal life as quickly as possible.
As in previous terrorist attacks, over the past 15 years OneFamily is always at the side of each and every victim and their families to help support them with financial, emotional, medical and legal assistance, at every step of their painful and difficult journeys.
While it may seem difficult to make a difference in the lives of the victims from abroad, your prayers and a donation to OneFamily can ease the pain for Israel’s victims of terror.
