Cheryl Mandel, a bereaved mother from Israel, was the featured speaker at wide Yom Hazikaron Commemoration ceremony co-sponsored by OneFamily at Ben Porat Yosef, a Modern Orthodox day school in Paramus, New Jersey. The event took place on Tuesday, May 10.

Cheryl addressed a packed auditorium of close to 400 students, parents, and community members from Bergen County. She helped the community understand how precious Israel is, and the sacrifices her son Lt. Daniel Mandel z”l made in order for us all to have a safe homeland. After her speech, she sang with the students.  Her optimism and good spirit resulted in a standing ovation from the crowd.

On Tuesday May 17, Kay Wilson, one of the most riveting and inspiring survivors of a terrorist attack in Israel, addressed employees of Baron Capital Management in New York City at an intimate breakfast event.

Kay relayed the story of her attack, the aftermath, and her will to keep on living which she attributes to the assistance given to her by OneFamily.  Her story brought to life what unfortunately so many other Israelis experience.
