OneFamily Mourns the Murder of Dafna Meir

OneFamily was deeply saddened by the devastating murder of Dafna Meir, a mother of six who was stabbed to death by a terrorist in her own home in Otniel. She was killed while struggling with the terrorist to protect her children.

Dafna succeeded in keeping the terrorist away from her children, but sustained fatal wounds to her upper body. Her 15-year old daughter witnessed the murder, and two other children were home at the time of the attack.

Because of the struggle with Dafna, the terrorist ran off after the murder towards the Southern Hebron Hills. Security forces launched a manhunt to find him.

Dafna is survived by her husband Nathan and children Renana, 17, Akiva, 15, Noa, 11, Ahava, 10, Yair, 6, Yaniv 4. She was a nurse who also taught classes for brides-to-be.

Activist Yehuda Glick said Dafna’s heroism saved her children. “The terrorist tried without a doubt to hurt the kids and Dafna, who was so small and short, fought him,” he said.  “We are broken but strong.”
