Love is in the air at OneFamily’s Jerusalem office, where OneFamily social worker Dikla Lichterman has just announced her engagement to Amichai Mualem.

“We’re just friends,” Dikla Lichterman (26) insisted to friends and family who asked about her relationship with Amichai Mualem (24) during the past year.

“You’d make a great couple,” they all insisted.

Dikla and Amichai met one year ago on a OneFamily trip to London for bereaved siblings. They were fast friends, but according to Dikla, nothing more.

They had a lot in common. They’d both experienced great loss. Dikla’s brother was murdered in a terrorist attack two years ago in the West Bank, and Amichai’s father four years ago in Kiryat Arba.

When they returned from their London vacation with OneFamily they kept in touch as friends. Because Dikla lived in Haifa and Amichai in Kiryat Arba they only saw each other once a month at various OneFamily events. Just before Pesach, however, Dikla moved to Jerusalem to begin work as a social worker for OneFamily. She and Amichai met and talked about seeing each other more often.

The two dated four months and on September 5, 2005 Amichai asked her to marry him.
